TASTING NOTES BY HANNES DESMEDT
(World Best Sherry Sommelier, Bartender at Café Privé and Hertog Jan 3*)
Appearance
A wheat straw yellow color with a slight turbidity of 2nd fermentation and a firm, fine creamy foam.
Nose
First nose: Toasted wheat with a supportive hop and white flowers. Second nose: Iris, white roses, fine herbs, and light truffle flavor.
Taste
Attack: Very fresh with a sweet edge and a soft creamy texture. Mid-palate: Structured with a mild bitterness, pleasant hoppy impressions, and a very flowery character. Finish: Very unctuous with little aggressive CO2 bubbles and a retronasal aromatic hoppy character.
Conclusion
Réserve Royale is a very nice balanced gourmet beer with a delicate sparkle and a pleasant hoppy character. Floral aromas and the bitterness of the hops are rightly combined.
